Too much of any vitamin or mineral is bad for any creature.
Most people suggest dusting once a month for Leos.

I think people only dust calcium with D3 once a month..?

I think regular calcium is given a little more often, or..?

Dusting once a month? Maybe with calcium with D3. Regular, pure calcium should be used at least every other feeding and a bowl of it should be available at all times in their tanks.

Too little calcium will result in weak bones prone to fracture. Too much calcium can result in calcium being deposited in the soft tissues of the body.

By processed you mean metabolized, right? My logic was that if there's so much that it overloads the system for dumping calcium in bones and excreting it, then it's too much.

From what I understand, excess calcium is dumped from the body through waste. Now, too much D3 will cause them to absorb too much calcium.
