Brian, if this works out I see no reason why we couldn't do another one for all geckos! Surely you have some photos saved from your leos??? Yes, the finished calendars will be for sale!

I have some of my leos, but they are almost entirely all 'for sale' types of shots, and nothing worthy of a calendar. I'll dig through them and see what I can find.

Maybe someone wants to bring a few leos over....? :)

Yea, I'm sure she'll need files with a much higher DPI to make the calendar. My pic would look AWFUL if she tried to print from the file I have on the site.

Ideally you would want at least 150-200dpi, so at 8x11 you would want approx (1200-1600 x 1650-2200) minimum (unless the picture is only part of the 8x11?), generally printers recommend 250-300dpi, so you'd be looking for at least about 3 megapixels, ideally closer to 5.

Marcia, are you looking for theme only pics or just about anything goes?
Themes would be great, but not necessarily in every case. I think what I'd like to avoid is like what Brian said.. 'for sale' types of shots. What I originally conceived was something along these lines:

January - snow, skiiing, New Year's party
February - Valentine's Day
March - St. Paddy's Day, wind
April - rain showers, Easter
May - flowers, spring colors
June - beach, picnics,
July - 4th of July, red, white, and blue
August - BBQ
September - back to school, sunsets
October - Halloween, pumpkins, fall colors
November - Thanksgiving, more fall colors
December - Holidays

Marcia, is there an optimal size? Will a size that will be small enough to post here be too small to blow up?
Ideally, we would like to see a finished product at around 200 dpi at 8.5 x 11. This makes for a huge pic here, so perhaps when cropping or editing a copy or thumbnail could be made at the 500W pixel range for posting here?

What a fabulous idea, Marica! I can't wait to have one of the completed calendars! I haven't had time to take any new pictures, yet, and I doubt I can compete with some of the awesome photographers we have here, but I thought you might like to see this pic again from last Christmas! :)
