I took these pics yesterday. I was so happy and excited to see this flower bloom, it's first! A couple years ago..I was on this forum learning about caring for my leopard gecko. I have a plant called night blooming cereus, AKA Queen Of The Night. An ugly plant with a gorgeous huge white bloom..it only blooms one night, smells great, and is gone by the morning. Anyway..I had the plant for a few years growing out from a single piece my brother in law had given me. I was happy and posted the flower when it bloomed here on the forum. So Marcia from Golden Gate Geckos says, I have a similar plant, but the flowers are red.And she posted a few pics. It was gorgeous, and I told her so. So she says I will send you some! She did..with no charge to me..what a nice person I did not even know! So I have been growing it ever since, and since we moved here to our new home...I put alot of my succulent and cactus plants on the west side where they get late afternoon sun. They are thriving and even my cactus are getting blooms for the first time. So here is what I saw when I went out yesterday morning. :)
Thanks so much for your kindness Marcia!

I just heard something about cut flowers, I'm sure it could apply to live ones as well. If flowers are given in love or as a selfless act of friendship then the blooms will open but if their are given with selfish motives, they will wilt and die quickly.

Maybe that's one of the reasons yours are thriving! They're beautiful by the way.

WOW, Carole... thanks for posting this! I'm so glad you could see what the flowers look like on this lovely succulent. My 'mother plant' is almost finished prolifically blooming for this season. That plant has provided so many others with cuttings to create new ones!

 Thank you again Marcia, it was so very kind of you to share this beauty with me. I shared some with friends and family too, but mine is the first to bloom! I love it and cherish it.
