What would be good things to feed if you think your gecko is getting a bit on the tubby side?

Yoshi is rather large, last time i weighed him he was about 100g. But he a little over 10 inches long from how good i can measure him, he never stays still ;)

He used to eat mostly mealworms, between 6-8 in one sitting...sometimes as many as 15.

Recently he seems to have gone off mealworms and sometimes only seems to want to eat every few days, but today and yesterday he ate 1 roach each night :) Are roaches a better alternative to get his weight down a little without making him hungry? In the 7 months we've owned him hes only eaten about 4 waxworms.

In my experience I have found the prey that they have to work the most for is the best thing for keeping their weight down. Those who only eat crickets, and have to do a lot more hunting seem to gain weight more slowly than those who can sit in the same spot to munch worms. Just my own observation. Take it for what you think it's worth.

Thnak you for all your help. I started with the waxwoms 1-2 times a week
because originally she didn't seem to be growing. We had her 3 months and not even one shed. She didn't have an appetite. Now she has shed 3-4 times, is much bigger and has a great appetite. so i will now cut back on the wax worms.

She is just fine, keep feeding her. Just watch it whit the waxsworms their fat. From so far she is a nice healthy gecko. A fat gecko, looks a lot more chubby and are bigger.

Looks good & healthy, not even close to unhealthy fat. She could plump that tail up alot more IMO & still be just right & healthy. I like too keep mine plump tails, they can & will get fat, they should be. Most gecko's I see are on the thin side, so I wouldn't go on that. Also gecko's vary in size, wieght can be very different so if someone says their adults is only 65 grams & you have one that is 100, I still wouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't cut back on feedings and if she's doing good on the mealies, just stick to what your doing. If you want too keep her on the waxworms, & or she's taking them better, or not eating other food, I'd give them to her! I wouldn't cut them out myself.

I wouldn't keep her on waxworm, I will only use it as a treat if she really likes them. Crickets, roaches, and silkworms are better food in my opinion. When a leo gets too fat, it is very difficult to get their weight down.
