Can a girl just be skinny?

I'm tired of hearing, 'I'm worried about you" ... "It looks like you're loosing weight" ... "Have another croissant" ... "That's all there's just egg and cheese. they don't have ham?" (response to that... 'i don't eat ham.')

I mean I KNOW I'm skinny... I get it... I just can't gain weight... It's not like I don't want to... Believe me, I'd love to gain 20 pounds. Even 10 pounds would be great!

I'm tired of getting the, "I can see through you when you turn to the side." comments.

No I'm not annorexic. No I don't have any other eating disorder. I just don't gain.. As a baby, I had to be force fed the bottle, for the most part anyway.

I don't have a food issue. I love food. I can't force myself to throw up, so no I'm not doing that.

I just wish people would get off my case... I can't help it... :-(

Although I'm a guy I get the comments of "Do you ever eat?". I'm about 5'10" at 145lbs. I work with a guy that's about 5'8" at 120lbs. We can both eat a large pizza by our self, that's one each. It's called having a high metabolism. I just deal with it and make the most of it. It's very helpful when it come to playing softball, I can fly around the bases. I still try to eat healthy, just because I don't gain the weight doesn't mean I'm not clogging up arteries.

Now days when a girl is skinny then there is something wrong with them. If someone makes a comment just walk away, they'll get the point sooner than later.

Keep you head up and don't worry about them. Some are jealous.

Don't let people bother you. I have got those comments from people in the past and now that I'm not super skinny anymore, I get comments about that too. Don't let it bother you. no matter what size you are, there are still going to be people that are not happy with it. It does not matter what they think. I think a lot of it comes from jealousy and/or someone just trying to make you feel bad because they realize it's a sensitive subject for you. People are naturally mean. If they are really worried about you then they should be close enough to you to know that you are just naturally a thin person.
tell them to go take a hike.

Ya I'll add one to Brian. I'm about 5'9" at 130lbs. even though im a guy my mum still throws me comments all the time. So I just figure some people are naturally thin.

My health teacher last year told me to enjoy it now, because in 20 years when my metabolism hits the brakes I'll be fat.

rob is the same way, I'd just like to have half the metabolism you people do, he's 5'11 and 140...and he eats constantly, but unlike most, he's prolly gonna always be like that. His dad eats everything in site and is still the same size plus maybe 5 lbs that he was when rob was born! And I'm talking about a man who drinks about 10 beers a day!!! Luckily I think it also went to our girls, which I'm sure they're gonna have the same issue that you are when they get older. I'm the opposite of you, I can't loose weight, no matter how hard I try...I'm trying a new plan so hopefully I'll drop that 90 lbs...you can have some of mine if you'd like LOL...and I'm mostly a vegitarian, I barely eat meat, love seafood though...I eat tons of veggies and grains...I've even cut out fast food more than twice a month. I'm still not losing...it goes both ways whitney...I'm sick of people telling me I need to lose weight. The worst people are the ones in my family...they really pick on me about it cause my mother and I are the only overweight ones. So hang in there and try lifting some weights and running to build up some muscle...that may get them off your back when they see how nicely toned you are! (not saying you're not already, I don't know what you look like) then you'll be hearing a different story!

ya tonya pretty much hit it on the head, i think some girls look really really skinny because they have no fat but then they have no muscle, which can look a lil odd sometimes. So join track or somthing, i know a lot of girls who gained weight in track, but dont do long distance because that just legnthens your muscles

HOORAY! SOMEONE ELSE WHO UNDERSTANDS!!! ...when I was younger (as in like, middle school) I was 5' and weighed like 85lbs. Once I hit high school I cleared 100... barely. I loved it, because my family always told me how skinny I was, and that was good enough for me! I do have a pretty good muscle structure though (which I'm proud to say, it happens to be my favorite part about... me? lol) anyway, my point is enjoy eating crap food and always being hungry 24/7 and when you go to the beach, (especially if you ever go to FL... oh god we have scary fat tourist people here) you'll feel all better! :) I agree though, if you dont have "tonage" (as we call it) do some push-ups, it'll make you feel better! But, keep in mind, those comments will never stop. Just feel great that you're not struggling with your weight, because it's a tough battle!!

I was the same way till I had my second kid. During my first pregnancy it took everything in me to eat enough to gain the 25lbs they wanted me to gain to be a whopping 135lbs when my daughter was born. By the time she was 2 I was back down to 86lbs (pre junior high weight). With my son it was a different story, I was damn near 175lbs when he was born and I'm now battling a low sugar issue.

I'm kinda the opposite. I'm 5'8" and 206 lbs. But I always get comments that I look like I weigh alot less, makes me feel better any way :). Most people guess I'm between 160-175. Guess muscles really does weigh more than fat :D. But don't let those comments bother you, everyone has a different metabolism. Some just more active than others, and they are the lucky ones.

I guess I am one of those guys that likes to tease the Lil' dudes! I mean I have some Bro-in-laws that are between 5'4"-8" and weigh like 140 soaking wet. They're great at sports and love to eat but can't gain an ounce to save their lives. I'm 5'11" and 215. They tease me for being "GIRTHY" so I tease them for being "TINY". It's all in good fun though.

Don't take things to heart. People will always tell you that you're either too skinny, too overweight, too tall, too short, black, white, purple or too dumb. I'll go crazy if I took everything people told me into consideration when it came to personal appearance:p

I never could understand why people just can't seem to get it through their heads that human beings come in all shapes and sizes... tall, short, large, small, thin, and chubby. Why can't we all accept ourselves just the way we are?

I had the same problem til my mid 30's, when I graduated I was 5'4 and 98lbs and got a lot of crap and was sent to tons of Dr's, each telling my parents that when I was hungry I would eat and that there was nothing wrong with me. Well after Cody I went to about 140-150 and after Emily, well we won't talk about that lol

But their dad is 5'7" and 115lbs and will probably never get any bigger, his entire family is just tiny. He eats at least 3 times as much as I do and never gains anything. My family is made up of mostly larger people. I diet my back end off now and gain.
