Yeah sounds like a bad idea. In the wild animals from the same locale get along only because they can walk away if fights happen. They can't do this in captivity.

I have proof as to why it's not a good idea to mix species...Or I would if I had had a camera at the time. When I was working at a pet store just previously here, we were very limited on tanks so we had to house a Giant Chinese Flying Frog with a pyxie frog in the same five gallon tank. Yes, I know, it's horrible but I wasn't the one who put them together. :\ Anyway, one day I came to work at the flying frog was attempting to mate with the pyxie. D:

I haphazardly tried to pry them apart but the flying frog was securely attached to the pyxie. I was afraid to hurt or stress them so I didn't try very hard. :\ The funniest thing was that it didn't even seem to bother the pyxie. He (or perhaps she) just went on about his/her daily routine as if nothing was amiss. I really wish I would have gotten a pic.

It seems both horrible and comedic at the same time. And the moment the flying frog dismounted I put him in a separate tank that had just recently become available.

Although, we could have had Giant Chinese Flying Pyxie Frogs, I still wouldn't recommend it. :p

I agree with the above, it's never a good idea to mix species, heck, sometimes it isn't even have two of the same animals together.

There care requirements are the complete opposite. One is semi arid the other is tropical. Will not work.. Plus you run the risk on transmitting parasites to your leo as I am sure your goldens are not captive bred???
