Can I leave a red incandescent light on 24/7?

I know red light doesn't bother them, but should there be a period where they experience total darkness? My temps on the warm side are 91-94, on the cool side about 75-77. I need it on 24/7 to keep the cool side temps up. Is this okay?

He explores from like 5-8 p.m. I don't see him out at all in the middle of the night. I'm wondering if keeping the light on all the time is making him lose his nocturnalness. That's okay though because I'd rather him be out during the day.

I leave mine on all the time & it doesn't appear to affect Hidey at all. Some nights he appears to be basking beneath it on the upper level.

Mine is starting to come out with the tv on, and even when I am standing right next his setup...I think they can come to get used to it, but I think infra red light is the one that doesnt bother them...

LOL My leo runs out of her hide to look at the tv when I put the Cubs games on, or animal planet. But she turns away when they Sox games are on. I LOVE IT! HAHA

I'm sure you mean White Sox, otherwise I think a trip to the vet is in order because something's very wrong with her!

most if not all reptiles cant see red light as far as i know. so red heat lights are ok to use 24/7 like a couple others have said.

yep

use the Infra Red Bulb (25w) for night time viewin (approx 6pm-2am)...but use a sensor to switch off the heat mat when it get too hot when both are runnin...always spray a light mist (about10pm) in the viv to keep it humid...sure has helped the sheddin...:main_yes:
