Can I use a real tree branch for my leopard gecko?

Just got a leopard gecko just want to know if i can use a real tree branch, or if theres a way to make it safe ( my friend said to boil the branch in water)

bake it for an hour i think i baked mine at 350 degrees and then just let it cool and your done

haha. baking works well, also bleaching check out this website how-to, and scroll about 90% of the way. see?
