Can mealies carry parasite?

I'm just wondering if mealworms or superworms could also host parasites (e.g. pinworms) like crickets can. I usually breed all my own feeders because I feel the feeder insect that I buy from pet/fish shops here may not be clean. But I ran out of mealworms this week and bought in some from a fish store. Then I realised its soooo much easier to buy 1000 mealworms than to pick them out one by one from the beetle's bin...

Anything can carry parasites.

Pinworms cannot infect the feeders AND the geckos at the same time. Since most parasites of this nature have a direct life cycle, they will only be in a reproductive state with one host at a time. I believe mealworms are the least of your concern, Bonnie.
