Hello Here is one of my Babies of this year. Her parents are 2 Fasciolatus WF. She is so dark like slate and she seems not to have any yellow. She hatched white and Black with an aberrant tale. But now she is getting darker and darker. Surely it is something new but what do you think is it looking simmilar to?

Nice mack snow afghanicus...

That does not look like something that would hatch from pure Fasciolatus to me...

How about a pic of the parents...

Gregg i agree totaly with you it does not look like but it is. The most biggest problem ist that the maternal animal is very old and i cant belive that she will survive the next breeding season. it is making me upset but the life is not permanennt.

I can definatly see where the coloration of the offspring came from. Maybe the offspring will color out more like the female as it ages. I guess you could say that is what is fun with WC animals you just don't know what you're going to get.

All and all it's still a nice gecko any way you look at it.

In the Nature the borders flow. Probably he is Mixed with Macularius Macularius. He has got more yellow then the females but they come all from the same region. Finally by WC´s you never can have a Guaranty. you get your information from a chain of informers. The children tell to the cacher where do they have the animals from, the cacher is telling the origen to the sellers, the sellers to the central seller and the central seller is telling them to the Buyers in Europe and Americas and everybody of them is lying to get the better price ;) And i bought Fasciolatus that was the guy telling to me who sold me those animals. I saw so many Animals with differend collors called Fasciolatus with the Guaranty of pure Fasciolatus. Finally you never can get 100% sure. My Animals are so Fasciolatus like the others are ;)

I fully agree with the above statement. Damon just doesn't look like the typical subspecies images found on the net.

The Question is finally what is this small beast and not where does Dämon belonge to if more Macularius macularius or more Fasciolatus. Why is that small thing not yellow like her Daddy or just more yellow as her mom behaving like a good 1/3 cast, Halfcast, 1/4 cast.
As it hatches it was black and white. Now it is black and gray with little white and it is still changing

How old and how many grams is it. That gecko could fade to a pale colored background with the lavendar banding and look very much like the mother.

I own 3 "fasciolatus" , but only females. The hatchlings I produced were from enigma, bell, and eclipse. The eclipse outcross have the lav banding from the "fasc" parent. I have no clue what a pure fasc or macularius hatchs like to be honest.

Actually it is quite the opposite... With wild caught animals, you pretty much know exactly what you will get if you have your species/subspecies/localities correct... In this case, I dont think Tomek got what he was told he got...

Its the animals that have been CBB over a few generations that throw the odd-ball genetic abnormalities... In the wild genetics are usually much stronger and free of defective genes like albinizm...

Not sure why people say you never know what you will get with wild caught animals... I guess it is just one way to falsely justify taking animals from the wild when there are thousands of healthy CBB animals on the open market all over the world...

What a beautiful baby, Tomek!!! It does look a lot like a Mack Snow. I think one parent looks like an E. fasciolatus, but the other parent is a mystery. It would be great if the baby got darker and darker!
