Can we put them together?

Hi,

I have a female leopard gecko and my girlfriend has a female leopard gecko, and they've both lived solitary to their whole lives. My girlfriend is learning photography and we wanted to put both of them together just for a photo shoot only, not to live together.

But we're worried because neither one has ever been used to being by another gecko. Would there be any trouble with putting them together for a half hour while we took pictures? Also, is there anything to note like don't put one into the other's enclosure, like have them meet on neutral ground? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think u should hold on to them one in each hand and put them some what side by side to see how they react and just let them crawl around the floor/you then I am pretty sure you should put them in a neutral tank.

If you just want a picture, put them on neutral territory. If you want to see if they can live together, choose a tank, clean it thoroughly, re-arrange the furniture and put them together. In either case, watch them closely. Initial slow tail waving and a nip or two is acceptable as long as it stops. Violent biting and prolonged chasing is, obviously, not ok. Sometimes the signs of bullying are more subtle: one gecko having scratches on the body or losing weight, a gecko not eating, or one gecko constantly sitting on the other.

they should be fine for half an hour. in a normal tank. but any longer than that then yeh you might want to try neutral ground.
