Hi everyone! Just wanted to see if you guys could help me with this little one :) I got him/her going on 4 months ago from where I work (Petsmart) for $45. Can anyone help me with age too? I measured him yesterday, and he came out to 4 1/2 inches or so. What do you guys think? I can get more pictures too. Looking at them now,it might be a little hard to see :main_robin:

I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that cresties don't have any morphs. They do have colours and patterns. In this case it looks to be a buckskin (no major pattern) or maybe a tiger (stripes on side, I can't really tell)? It's been a while since I've had cresties, so I'm probably behind on the lingo.

Anyways, just wanted to say he's very cute :D

My apologies then. I knew my lingo was going to be different. My definition of morph is obviously not the same. Thank you for the link.

No worries, I consider something a morph if it is distinctly different from the normal pattern or color of a species. Google defined it as this: "One of various distinct forms of an organism or species."

The way they inherit these traits are different from say Leopard Geckos or Ball Pythons, they are mostly line bred traits. Some traits seem to be more inheritable than others like Dalmatian spots.

OP: Also keep in mind that just because it is the color you see now does not mean it will stay that way. A good majority of Cresteds go through a color change within their first year of life. Sometimes it's easy to see what it will look like as an adult and other times not so much. Here are some old pictures of what my first Crested Gecko looked like from picking him up as a hatchling to a little over a year later.

Thank you for trying! Haha I will see if I can do more research and figure out what he/she is! Lol Do you have any idea what his/her age might be?

It might be easier to tell if you take some active evening pics and a daytime pic.It also may change this next year to it's true color morph.

The "V" 's running down its back is making me feel like one trait it's carrying is "chevron". Chevron patterning is not a morph but is a trait, just like dalmation spotting. The paler colouration looks as if it's going to shed very soon and makes it tricky to guess what the base color is. It looks like it will turn out to be a lighter green or pale yellow. If my experience's prove to be correct your little one will have a base color similar to my picture. You've entered a world of addiction. Welcome :main_laugh:

Edit: Im noticing your signature and you named your little one charmander :p suits him/her !
