Hi, I got a female carrot tail but I am clueless on what morph to breed her to. At the moment the only males I have are as below:

Sunglows
Snows
HG Tang
Albino Patternless (Rainwater) and
SHTCT

What do you recommend?

Thanks

Thanks for the opinion guys. Now come my next question. Hope you don't mind.

The babies would be tang het carrot? if so, breeding them back would be tang carrot. Is this correct?

What morph CT is she?
If Sunglow then to the sunglow.
If Hypo based then the HG.
May I know why?

Anyway, I believe she's a hypo CT. She's been with my HG male since the day I posted this thread. Hoping for something good to happen (crossing fingers :))

Line bred means that 2 geckos that share very strong coloration and or markings are bred together, then the best out of that are either bred back to the mother or father or to each other.

It's pretty much just taking a trait and attempting to enhance what you already have.

From what i understand its nothing genetic.

I'd recommend (in the order stated) that you pair the female with any one of the following males:

1.) HG Tang - Outcome would be Tangs of varying quality
2.) SHTCT - Outcome would be Tangs of varying quality
3.) Sunglows - Outcome would be Tangs of varying quality, all het Albino

She's a carrot tail hypo right?

If you looked carefully, you would probably see the love bites made by my HG Tang i.e. on the neck, mid body and tail base. The marks are off whitish in color. That reminds me of one question, is it normal for males to do this? It's more like rape rather than love making. LOL!

Holy crap!!! LOL... Look at the amount of carrot tail on that animal... She is a super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldy... And a really awesome example of one at that... You can not go wrong breeding that animal to an HG tang...

Carrot tail is not a recessive gene so there is no het form... It is one of the many polygenic line bred traits in leopard geckos...

A good amount of carrot tail will surely carry down to its offspring...

And yes, males do often bite the famale during copulation... Leopard gecko breeding is not a very romantic ordeal...LOL... It can be borderline violent at times...

LOL guys! A question though. I have never witnessed any copulation first hand on any of my geckos, as of date. But seeing the bite marks up to the neck (such as on this specimen), does that mean the chance that they have mated is high? Do males bite for other reasons than for mating?

p.s. I am really clueless!
