My leopard gecko escaped last nite, and i woke to crashing around, i got up and my cat had my sunglow gecko in its mouth i got her to drop him and took him to my room, he was in shock so i set up a tank with paper towel laid down, put a hide with damp paper towel in it and a few other hides.

When checking him out, he has some scratches on his back, and his tail from the base has started to come away but only at the top, left him over night and the tail still has not been dropped fully. Any advice please? waiting on a call back from the local reptile vet but would like some advice if any.

Damn, that's harsh. makes me glad my dog has no interest in my gecko lol.

which reminds me, a buddy of mine had a Uromastyx, had just gotten it and his cat somehow managed to get into the terrarium and eat it! bad day. good thing you got to it before you cat did something irreparable

anyhow good luck hopefully the gecko didn't get too much of a shock

Well, I hope your leo gets better, its a good thing you got him away from the cat before something worse happened. Do you have a net top on the leos tank?

Poor little guy :( Hope ur both coping well after the ordeal, i think its just as stressful for the owner when something like this happens :(

Almost lost my male due to a cat related accident so i know how horrible it is :(

The scratches will prolly heal up ok on their own but i have no idea about the tail :(

My little guy had a scratch on his leg after his accident but it healed up fine and a few sheds later u wouldnt even know it happened :)

I hope ur little guy is ok and doesnt lose his tail, and try not to be too hard on the cat ;) I know theyre a pain at times but they cant help themselves hehe
