I can't say I entirely disagree, but neither can I say I entirely agree to this statement. I've been very interested in this particular topic for quite some time now.
My keyboard is right next to my geckos' enclosures. Sometimes when I play, for instance, one of them will be out in plain sight, enjoying herself. I'll play in a certain musical range and she'll begin to shut her eyes, as if she cannot hear the notes. If her eyes have already been shut, I'll begin playing in a certain range and they will remain this way. This particular gecko will often hang out in the open with her eyes shut if it's silent, but when she hears a noise, her eyes will quickly react and open. One day I noticed this behavior, and found myself trailing up the keyboard note by note trying to see if I could evoke a reaction. When I reached a certain note particularly on the higher register, her eyes snapped open, and remained open as I continued to trail upwards. There was no other visual/auditory stimulus that could have evoked that response, so it made me wonder.
Could be simply coincidence, but it certainly raised some question in my mind if these geckos could hear only specific ranges or notes of music. Just my 2 cents.
