So I'm sitting here feeding my 3 crested geckos and trying to get my one leo to eat meal worms (not the easiest bugger hasn't eaten much since I got him but that's another story. Pretty sure he was raised on crickets)

anywho has anyone left a dish of crested gecko diet in a leo tank?

I think if you do find someone who has done it, it will have been by accident. CGD is designed for fruit-eating geckos like Rhacodactylus, while leos don't eat fruit at all.

I think the place to begin is checking your husbandry, primarily heat, and making sure it's in the proper range. Then go from there. There are scads of threads listing proper housing, temps, feeding, etc. Do a search, and if you don't find helpful answers, post here again and somebody will try to help.

But I certainly give them CGD. I don't think there's any way they'll eat it if they won't eat mealies well.

oh yeah i know I've been searching. But just wondering if anyone tried. I was reading over a few of the soup/slurry receipts. Besides it being fruit based diet still has as far as I can tell pretty healthy when it would come to a leo assuming it would actually consume it. Which obviously would be the main problem.

We had some handfeeding meal worm guts session tonight and I tossed a legless cricket in so i'm sure he'll eat that.

i have fed a leo or 2 CGD before but only when they were off of food for a bit and it helped spark them to eat insects again, in no way i am saying that feeding them it will make it eat insects but it worked for me and if it hasnt ate in a while it would be a good way of giving it some nutrients it needs but i would feed via medicine dropper.

if you have just bought your gecko then ask where you got it from what it was eating. Also if its new give it time to adjust and make sure your temps are good (92-94 hot side and cool side should be room temp avg 77) and you have hides. Good luck with him/her.
