I just did a UPS shipping calculate time and cost, and the options I was given were by 10am for early next day arrival where it's usuall 8am and 12pm for a next day arrival that is usually 10am.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I don't know what's going on with them. I just calculated a shipping cost to Wisconsin and it said shipping is $89!!!! What in the!

Now the shipping quote and info section gives early am delivery times which cost an insane amount of money. Regular overnight arrival is pricey too, a little bird told me to pre-pay my next day labels and that is a huge savings. The only problem is the minimum order for those is 25. I save over $400 for doing it this way though!

I print my labels online which saves from getting it done at the store.

When I estimated the shipping, noticed the different times... I just shipped 2 packages out last week and they were 8am and 10am, not 10am and 12pm. :-(

Matt & Mallorie, I didn't notice the price, except that by 10am is now the early am shipping, meaning it has the same or similar high price as before. and the 12pm is the regular overnight with the same price as the old 10am.

I even tried several different zips and they all had this new time change. Did you guys notice it or just the prices?

Will we have to start chargin a million dollars for shipping to get it there still by 10am? Or will 12pm suffice?

Edit: I just tried a random zip, and it still says 10am and 12 pm... :-(

The times are probably due to rural location of the recipient. For standard overnight service, UPS and FedEx only guarantee noon delivery instead of 10:30 for many barely rural areas - like where I live. Some areas are even guaranteed only as end of day rather than 10:30.

Noon works fine - unless the customer doesn't want to wait, then they can pay the difference. It's nice that the option is there.

It does take a bit more planning and schedule clearing of those of us that are "rural". For me, UPS is almost always here between 10-11 anyway. Fedex is usually late or exactly at noon. They did get my new Mojave girl here well before 11 yesterday, though. I noticed it was not the usual driver.

All the zips I've checked were all commercial residence. I've checked about 5 different zips in various places, and all had noon as the old 10:30 am time. and 10am as the 8am time.

Here's a copy of one of my searches on UPS. I know the city, and it's not a rural location.

I haven't called them, but if it still looks like this when I make my next shipment label, I will.

I think I'm obsessing over this. I keep playing with zips. :-\
