As it turns out, our gecko "Gizmo" (the one in my avatar), who we assumed was male because he was incubated at 88 degrees, is actually FEMALE!!
and a snow! Snows don't even incubate at the same "rules" (when incubating for females, breeders have found they still produce mostly males).. So here we are, incubating for males, and we get a female!! What are the odds of that?
She and her clutchmate "Chance" are just days over 2 months old. This explains why "Chance" is much bigger - he is about 33 grams and she is just over 26 grams.
But so the name "Gizmo" is no more.. Yes, Emily, we are changing some names around (again!!)
We are going to try line breeding for size, and since they are Osiris' and Nefertari's children, we changed their names to Anput ("gizmo" - snow) and Anubis ("chance" - normal)!! :main_evilgrin: definitely one of next season's breeding pairs :main_thumbsup:
