Thanks for all the info everyone! We will be looking to get a smaller rack, we will only have one or two breeding females for the time being. I was trying to stay away from the melamine because it's so heavy. I've never wired anything before in my life and the idea of doing my own flexwatt sounds scary.

We got ours from the bean farm and no where did it say anything about pre wiring.

www.proexotics.com sells prewired flexwatt. if you go with www.AnimalPlastics.com be careful of the economy rack its open all the way around and i played like hell keeping the tubs at the right temperature but allie and mark are great people! remember you get what you pay for!

all open sided racks are that way. They are made for temp controlled rooms.

that would be my main Problem. I have m y rooms in th basement and I have no heater in it so its not realy warm for example in wintertimes. I made my rack closed from all sides including the back so the temp is stable and easy to reach for me^^
