Just got my little girl this week and i spent weeks reading info to make sure ive got everything sorted.

Substrate: lino tiles
Heating: reptile one under tank heater
Temp control: atc 300 digital controller set on 33-35*c (temp goes on at 33 and off at 35)
Food: hasnt eaten yet but have offered crix and mealworms
Hides: 1 wet 1 warm 3 others around her house.
Weight: 20g
Morph: normal (no other morphs where im from yet)

When i got her she was mid shed and finished it off the 1st night i had her, very tame, just loves to be stroked on the top of the head.

Have i missed and thing?

Thanks.

Have order some calcium & some calcium with d3 just waiting for them to arrive.

Late last night the alarm on my temp controller went off as the temp droped below my 33* C down to 30, is this ok or do i need to make it warmer? Also any ideas on why the temp dropped so badly?

you need multi vitamins too, not just calcium, I use Nekton Rep (recommended by my vet), but I know alot of people on here use Rephashy, from what I gather its a calcium supplement but with multi vitamins too? Maybe someone who uses that can comment, but like I said, I use Nekton Rep as the multi vitamin, and then I have calcium too.

Thanks, will get hold of some, im not in the US so not sure on what brands i can get here so will look around and see what is available.

I got her on Monday afternoon, its now Friday Morning, and all she has eaten is 1x Wax worm, not interested in crix or meal worms, how long with out food can she go before i should get worried, last night i almost got her to eat a meal worm but then at the last second she turned away.
She was shedding when she arrived, and spent the 1st night in the moist hide and by Tuesday morning it looked like the shed was all gone, would she of eating this and is just still full from it?

I'm not in the US either! Im pretty sure my vitamin supplement is German :p don't know where you are, so I'm not sure if that helps, either way, stuff can be shipped :)

She is probably just trying to get settled into her new home. Keep the holding to a minimum and only move her if you have to for cleaning. If you let her settle in over the next few days she should pick up eating when she is comfortable. Try not to feed her wax worms, they are like cheesecake for us ive been told, very high in fat and not very nutritious. Just let her settle in for a few more days, then she should go for the mealworms and/or crickets.

You can leave a bowl of dusted mealworms in her tank, and she may eat them while your sleeping.

Yes, she would have eaten her shed, they like to dispose of all evidence that they shed, so that could be a reason why she isnt hungry!

I'm sure its fine, I use some other flukers products for Gutloading and they have been fine for me. Thats only for your calcium source though right? What did you order for your multi vitamin?

Besides getting your supplements together, I don't see anything wrong with what you have setup. The temp of 35 celsius seems perfectly fine too as long as the cold side is around 26-27. Many people keep their geckos around 36.5 degrees celsius without any issues. Most of my hots sides run from 35-37 celcius without any issues. There as so many opinions on this topic that I say as long as your hot side is from 33-37 then everything will be fine.

Thanks for all the kind words, she (and i say she very losely) she cost me just under 300 + set up of about 250 ish

So a fair investment on my pet thankfully e wife loves her to, not to mention my little boy loves watching her threw the glass.

Will get photos up of her and the set up next week

yea they are expensive to set up, but once you have all of the necessary things for them then you just have food to keep on top of, which is relatively cheap :)

As long as god forbid she doesnt need to see a vet :S that can be really expensive! Since your new to geckos, I would look around your area for a reptile vet so that if you ever need to pay an emergency visit, you know where a good one is! And their hours of operation and such. For real emergencies during the night, there are emergency vets open during the night but you would have to locate one willing to take reptiles. I like to have this information handy just in case I need it, then your not crazily searching around for one if you ever need to get there quickly.

Sadly only 1 maybe 2 herp vets in the whole country, new to geckos but not new to herps, have had blue tounges n beardies before. Have also worked with many different types over the years. From galapogus torts to tiny little newts.

But for now its just for me n the family to have one of the coolest pets in the world. :)
