MARK YOUR CALENDARS

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007

Don't pump gas on MAY 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of
gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all Internet users are to not go to a gas station in
protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most
places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the Internet
network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to th e pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies
pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May
15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for
at least one day.

If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't) resend this to your
entire contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

Heck if we do not fill up the Expedition or the Tahoe that would cost $140.00.

What do you guys think? Gas or no gas? :)

Yeah, I got that on Myspace yesterday. I don't know about the effectiveness but I won't be getting gas on the 15th, but only because I don't need gas. :)

I don't understand the logic behind these silly protests. Which day you buy or don't buy gas isn't going to affect the oil companies. It's not like gas stations send them a check for the gasoline sales each day. It has no effect on neither the demand for gasoline nor the consumption of it.

It's only the 100th time I've seen a "don't buy gas" strike. They just don't work. EVER. The reason is, those people that needed gas on the 15th will just buy it on the 16th. They'd get a dip on the 15th with an increase on the 16th.

The only TRUE way to make them take notice is to actually stop driving so much on a daily basis....every day for a loooong time. Demand goes down, sales go down. Easy to say, hard to do.

key words.

trying to strike out gas prices will never work. And even if it did, someone would just cheeky you out as you went to purchase a bike, or a new pair of air force 1's

All of us need to concentrate on reducing our energy use, in all aspects of our lives. There is only so much oil in the earth, it is finite and will not last forever, especially at the rate the United States and China is gobbling it up.

India is flying up there too. They are quickly becoming one of the top oil consumers.

These protests are so pointless. Not getting gas on a certain day won't affect the oil companies in any way
