CHLORHEXIDINE!?

I know Chlorhexidine is good to clean out animal enclosures but is it something I can use to wash my floors with? I have a cat and a dog which obviously live extremely close to the floor and my mom has an obsession with using bleach as a disinfectant. I don't mind it BUT she's pretty much become immune to the smell and she tends to use A LOT of it when she cleans. It's so bad that I can hardly breathe and I run around the house opening windows, turning on fans, etc. So can chlorohexidine be used to clean floors, etc?

When I worked at a vets office I would have to mop the floors with diluted chlorhexidine. It was the same stuff we disinfected kennels, tables and counters with too.

Diluted Clidox, Quatricide, and Nolvasan are all great for these purposes. I like Quatricide PV 15 as a germicidal detergent....it's a quat ammonium product and kills almost everything yet not harmful to animals or people if used as directed.

You can make up a spray bottle and use it for cleaning surfaces, feed and water dishes, etc. 10 minute contact time is best. It kills staph, strep, e coli, viruses, etc.

So should you spray the tub let it sit for 10Min then wipe it clean?

How long after you wipe it clean until you can put Leos back in them?

Thanks,
Michael
