:( Christmas VANDALISM ... or attempted robbery, you decide...

So... I woke up this morning, walked outside to get in the car to go use my new Starbucks gift card... when I saw this.

My car had been broken into... IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY! - IN MY BRAND NEW HOME! We just purchased this place about 3 months ago... it's so disheartening to have something like this happen in our new neighborhood... it makes me cry.

So, the cops came... they say it looks like either a 'hate' crime, or just someone who wanted to steal the sunroof off my 2007 Scion Tc. grrrrr. You can't steal these cars, they wont move without the real key.... There was nothing in the car, so there was nothing to steal... They even left the other car right next to it alone completely... very very weird.

anyway... Christmas was great... but this was a HUGE bummer. I'm just thankful my house is safe along with all my animals.

and yes, those are fingerprint smudges. and yes... the cops saw that.

The entire glass roof looks like granite now because it shattered so much...

Apparently they tried jacking the door at first but were unsuccessful...

apparently there have been some 'racist' types of vandalism lately... who knows... thats just what the cops said. I hope they find these folks...

Thank you so much David... I really appreciate you commenting... I'm going to talk to several more of my neighbors and see if they heard/saw anything or if they know of anything else happening in the area recently.

LOL about the NRA sign... I just night have to do that.

Oh my goodness Brittney, I am SO SORRY to hear this

I don't understand people that do things like this. I know times are tough right now, but I can never imagine vandalizing or stealing someone's hard earned property. LEAST of all on Christmas (or even around it). We had someone break into our convenience store we used to own on Christmas Eve...shattered our two front doors, and got away with 100s of dollars in cigarettes and other random stuff. Sadly, I know the feeling all too well!

Last year I had the wheels stolen off my car, sitting in my driveway of our home out in the country. RIGHT under our (sleeping) noses.

I REALLY hope you catch the jerk(s).

Thanks guys... it's tough, I finally got up the nerve to clean up the glass and everything... it was such a horrible mess.

anyhow... I have to keep thinking about the good things... like, the fact that it could have been BOTH cars, or my entire house, or my geckos, or my dogs or cats... it could have been so much worse. Cars are just worthless compared to everything else in my book...

There has been a string of vandalism in the neighborhood lately... I'm so sorry you had this happen. Especially on Christmas night.

That's terrible!!! What a horrible thing to do, but I guess it could have been much worse. Glad that your home and all of your family/animals are safe!
