some of them live on a butte right by my house. i see them basking in the morning when i jog. right now its winter and i never see them, i assume they are hibernating.
IMO Chuckwallas are best seen in the wild. I have had a few and they did not seem to do well unless they had a LARGE enclosure (preferably outdoors) with limited people contact. The best looking ones I have seen are the South Mountain Chukwallas in Arizona.
