cleaning natural decor

i have a small branch i got from my friends yard, i washed it and baked it, but it still grew mold, what can i do to clean it better and make it so mold doesn't grow?

i have a high humidty setup fyi

I would use a 10 percent solution. 1 part bleach to 10 parts of water; or 10 parts bleach to 100 parts of water :)

Then, like Rob said, soak it in plain water for a few days until the smell of bleach is totally gone.

ok so i soaked it in the bleach solution, enough to bleach it white, lol

then i did the water soaks, till i could smell no bleach

well now its been drying and there is a thick dark green mold, and fluffy orange mold growing on it........so now what?

Um...get a new branch? ;)

Seriously though, I can't think of another option. I started to do the same process and gave up.

damn cuz it was the perfect y shape for the tank, should i find a fresher one? any certain type of wood?
