what does everyone use for that once a month intensive cleaning??

I use highly diluted ammonia usually, but since I'm preggo, I don't think that's safe for me to use, so they haven't gotten their tanks scrubbed in a while...but I'm feeling industrious today, so some ideas would be great!!

I mainly use soap and water, but I also use bleach & water (Very diluted) ocassionally, and also use Novalsen (Sp?) as well.

Nolvasan (or however it's spelled... lol) is also known as chlorhexedrine ... it's usually a bluish color and you can usually get it through vet supply stores/websites and farm stores (usually in the milking dept.).

I use that and just plain old Dawn dishsoap. Nolvasan makes a good disinfectant, but I like how the dish soap leaves the tubs squeaky clean. (plus playing in the bubbles is always fun)

thanx all for that, I'm gonna look into ordering some in the next few days, I looked and it's not on the list of harmful chemicals I have to stay away from
