Ok, so I see how everyone post pics up of their geckos, so my question is, how do you people get so close with your pics? My camera wont seem to zoom in that far and when it does its just a blurry mess. Any assistance would be great.

I actually just take a normal picture from a few feet away, then edit the pic. Once they are on the computer, the pics are very large, something like 1200 x 800 pixels. So I just crop around the gecko, or the gecko's eyes, whatever, and the picture will then be at a more normal size. I can't take zoomed-in pics either, they always turn out blurry.

I'm not sure what kind of camera you have, but mine has a setting for close ups. I have a Kodak and theres a little knob on the top to switch settings(the symbol for close ups is a flower). You can zoom in as close as you want and it doesnt blur

Keep in mind that most point and shoot cameras need to be about 2 feet away from the object to focus, even on the macro (flower) setting. Set the image size to Fine/Large or whatever the biggest file size setting is. Don't worry about filling the frame, just get the gecko in focus and then crop the photo on your computer.
