I'm new to leos and not intending to breed for a while (if at all). However, I would like to know what is desirable when selecting breeders (apart from morph). For example, is there a standard or preferred head shape, body shape, size, etc? I've tried searching, but I've come up with nothing (maybe I've got the wrong terminology). Anyways, I'd appreciate any help!

A lot of it has to do with your preference. There are no standard sizes/shapes for leopard geckos in contrast to dog or cat breeds. Obviously, the gecko should be in good health, at lest 9 months old and at least 50 grams. In addition, certain traits have been recognized as undesireable and geckos with them should not be bred in case these traits can be passed genetically (even though some of them are likely due to incubation and not genetics). These traits include, but are not limited to: tail defects like kinks or curls, eyelid notches, missing limbs or digits (congenital and not due to amputation), kinked spine, dwarfism.

I think it's different for reptiles. I think we tend to do more color then say the body shape like Aliza said, in dogs. But every reputable breeder makes sure they breed nice and healthy ones ;)
