So when i bought my gecko off a kid a while ago, it was living with an older (only a year older) Tokay gecko... there in there own tanks now but my leopard gecko often tries to climb the glass...and on top of his hides is this normal? or am i being crazy that maybe it thinks it is arboreal like my Tokay haha

Many leopard geckos look like they're trying to climb the glass. They perceive the glass as an obstacle to where they want to go, namely "forward". Some leopard geckos like to climb onto a hammock or a ledge but they're not really arboreal.

Mine does this allllll the time. It usually means she's bored, or she wants to be held. To avoid the boredom I give her lots of things to climb and explore. I swear if I built a tower as high as I could, she would still want to go higher!

Mine loves to climb too. he thinks my pillows are mountains and my blankets are caves to be explored. If he's in his critter cage, like when i clean his tank, he is constantly clawing at the glass to get out. he doesnt like being contained at all, he doesnt even care about crickets in his critter cage, he just wants out! lol silly gecko
