I've only incubated a relatively small number of eggs at 83* but I don't recall specifically how long it took. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say about 55 days.
As an aside, the reason I only incubated a few at 83* was that I got a lot more males at that temperature than I wanted. At 80* however, I've never hatched a single male with the exception of a mack snow and two Enigmas (which for some reason unknown to me don't seem to follow the TSD "rules" as closely as other morphs).
Males for me at 88=41-45 day est, I had a few hatch earlier this year though
females at 83/84 (I did last year) hatched about 55-60 days, but I didn't like the male/female ratio or playing the guessing game on who was male/female
females this year at 80/81=60-70days so far
You just have to wait. If in doubt, leave the egg until it starts to get all crummy and moldy etc.
here's our temps. and incubation time that we have noted this year:
88-90 degrees took 35-38 days
85-86 degrees took about 40 days
83-84 degrees took about 45 days
Well I am incubating all mine this season at 79-80*f and they all have seemed to take 2 months almost to the date with a total of 6 hatches as of today with a few more to go hope it helps
I think I'm going to have to turn mine down, too. So far, it looks like I'm getting all males at 84/85. But I have some in there right now, so I have to wait to turn it down lower.
Kristi - we have mostly males this season as well, but the mack snows don't follow the normal incubation rules. Many breeders have found that even when incubating for females, mack snows still hatch predominantly male.
I'm incubating at 81/82 and hatches have been at about 54 days. Last season I incubated more like 80 and hatches were running 56-65 days. I have not yet gotten any mack snow males at these temps.
She a cute little normal pos. het. albino! No spectacular morph but she's still beautiful!! Her sister never made it out of the egg. she looked like a jungle.
