So I found this log cabin bird house at a craft store. Its pine and unpainted, the opening is wide enough for a baby leo and if I sad it a little it will be big enough for an adult. I really want to paint it, I found acrylic craft paint that is non toxic and is waterbased. Do you think that this paint is safe? Here is a link to the picture of it (this one is painted, the one I have is not.)

Haha thats cute :) I think you should repaint the sign to say something else but other than that it is cool. If the paint doesnt have on odor after it dries, and you feel comfortamble with it, then I would say go for it

The sign doesnt come on it so I'll probably leave it off. :D

I would seal the paint with something, just in case. Other than that; that's an awesome find! I'd like to make my own hides too when I have the time and money.

LOL....Katelyn, that is fun looking.
Acrylic craft paint that is non toxic (on Exterior) should work fine.
Any paint should be given plenty of airing out time before
introducing it to your tank.
I paint and clear coat with Minwax water-based Polycrylic
protective finish. Mainly to keep the geckos from rubbing the painted finish off. This clear coat will not dissolve plastic.
Cute Find. Take care. HJ

Thanks I'll get that to seal it with, and I am only going to paint the outside not the inside. This is for my new leos tank, and it hasnt been born yet, so there will be plenty of airing time. I started painting it last night and it looks great so far! I will do an updated pic when I finish painting it by the end of this week.
