Cool end temps?

am soon getting a gecko off one of my friends, and just looking into ordering my stuff for the set up now. However I'm slightly worried about what will be the cold end of the viv. Obviously with the heat mat and stat I'm hoping to have pretty good control of the warm end, but as our house can get pretty nippy will it be alright just to have the cool end unheated at room temp? I'm assuming the gecko will have the sense just to move across if it's getting chilly but I don't know whether there is a minimum cool end temperature?

LOL! yeah, they do have pretty good sence. But, when they are new to the encloser and not yet acclimated, they will go to the first available hidding spot and not come out sometime for days.

What size tank do you have?
My house gets cool to at night, and my male (who is in his own cage) is in my basement, which is always cool.
I have 20gal longs. So a 25W red heat bulb works out to be between 76 and 80F on that cool end. It takes a bit of experimentation with different wattage bulbs. This is all stuff you should have worked out BEFORE you put your leo in there.

Oops, I almost didnt notice, welcome to the forum!

Haven't got the tank yet, but it will be a 36 inch. I'm hoping once i have everything and can get it all set up it will turn out to be warm enough. I'm hoping to have all the kit by the end of the week, and then I won't be able to get the gecko til some time next week anyway, so hopefully I'll have a few days to test all this out and get it adjusted.

Thanks for the welcome :)
