We have a baby that still has the umbilical cord attatched. We put it in a tub with really moiste paper towels. Is there anything else we need to do? Thanks!

Sounds like you're doing it right using the moist paper towels. Hopefully by the time you ready this it will have fallen off. Good luck!

How long did it take from the day of hatching until the cord sloughed? The same day?
My first hatchling ever just hatched earlier today and it is 1) very skinny and 2) still has the cord attached. I am going to carefully transfer it with its egg on a spoon to a small plastic container with a damp paper towel substrate.
Man, I hope this bugger doesn't die. 25% chance of being a Mack Snow RAPTOR, too.
