I have been to my local reptile shop today looking for a few things to brighten things up a bit!
There was lots of boxes with big bits of bark in them and they were described as cork bark they were very light in weight!
Just wondering if anyone has come across this before has it been used and if so how do you make it safe to use for Leos?
Do you need to sterelise it clean it etc,it looks as though if it got wet it would soak up the water!

You can also bake them in the oven at around 250-300 degrees for 30 mins. Dampen them first though to reduce the chance of fires, although unlikely. The only down side is the smell given off during the process so don't do it when your excpecting people over.

When I was working at the pet store, we had some cork bark things. I didn't have very many options as to how to clean them. They're too porous so I couldn't clean them with a bleach solution. So I put them in a bucket full of searing hot water from the tap (although I'd probably recommend boiling water) for a few minutes and then rinsed them off really good, scrubbing them down with a scrubby brush. Seemed to do the job. I've never had a reptile get ill or anything from using it.
