Well I have had a lot of people ask me some questions about creamsicles...so here are some answers and some development pictures to show their changes.

People always ask me how you can a Creamsicle baby...well quite frankly you cant. For my cream projects most of my pairings are cream to cream. The first step is to ensure the baby is a snow. The second is to not classify anything until at least one shed. After their first shed you can kind of gauge how they will turn out. They work very similar to a hypo in that the black will fade and begin to color up in time. After about 2-3 sheds you will be able to tell a lot more about the colors to come.

Another question is how to go about creating creamsicles. First I would suggest you begin buy purchasing a creamsicle to start with. Creating your own will take a few years before they have some quality colors that dont brown out. So now you have a creamsicle...you can either breed it to another creamsicle or a tang/hypo of your choosing. Personally I do both. Breeding cream to cream will allow you to further line breed for desired traits, and breeding Tang/hypo to cream will allow you to see how other lines of tangs influence the snow as well as provide new variants of tang influence to your projects. Best bet is to have a 1.2 set up having 2 creams and a tang...this will produce the maximum quality creams in one season.

The last question that I get asked frequently is if cream enigmas or non enigmas are better to work with as far as projects. I like having a cream enigma male and then a creams and tangs as females. The enigma as we all know can throw out some crazy intense colors...no exceptions are made for creamsicles...which keep in mind is a snow with color. So I like having the ability to have cream enigmas but I like the look of a regular cream a little more (not as random with color and usually has an awesome pattern to go with its colors)

Here are some developmental images of one of this years babies.

It has such a drastic change Travis, but I do have a question. In that form how do you prove it is a cream without knowing the genetics. I see that yours is very high contrasted with orange and a yellow background. Is the best way to tell is when they are hatchlings or does something in particular stand out?

Beautiful none the less

Like most snows the easiest way to identify it is a snow is as a hatch-ling. Other than that they can be almost impossible to ID without knowledge of genetics.

Hello everybody.
I have some ID questions about creamsicles & hope you can help me to solve them instead the topic was started 5 years ago.
I've paired my Mack Snow W&Y male to my Sunglo Enigma female & the firs hatchling I've got looked like Enigma with something. I've supposed it's Enigma Tangerine but more experienced breeder insured ma that it's Enigma Creamsicle cause the Snow gene was here. So there are the photos of leo starting from the first day (8.03.2015) till now

And the other baby I've got today was also identifyed as a Creamsicle

As for me the first one looks very similar to Enigma Tangerine (according to photoes I've forund in web) and another - as a Black Hole. We'll be happy if anyone can explain me how to see the difference?
