Hello!
I am seeing some conflicting information about how wise it is to house a crested gecko in a paludarium. What I'd like is to have a small portion of the enclosure be a shrimp habitat, maybe just 1 or 2 gallons. The plan would be to have it against one side of the enclosure, as far as possible from the climbing features in the enclosure, to minimize risk the gecko falls in or something.
Questions I have:
(1) Is this just a terrible idea, period, and my gecko is going to drown
(2) My thought for making it truly watertight is to just put a small rimless cube inside the enclosure, against the corner. I could just get some acrylic and silicone but I'm not as confident I could make it truly watertight as a DYI thing. Anyone else tried this? Anyone tried something else that would work better?
Thank you in advance!
