No have it more towards half of the cage or 3 fourths of the way up were he can easily access it that way he doesn't always have to leave the safety of his vines to feed

They eat rotten fruit in the wild. Mine is at the base of the bush. That's my preference. It's boils down to that in my opinion.

Sorry, been off for a while and busy, but your setup looks great. Great pics. Your crested is going to be happy. You have a perfect setup now. I always get CGD and swear by it. My crested is getting big also. I'll add some pics of mine, but obviously some are edited as I did background in black and white.

Thanks, he's nothing amazing like some I see, but he's a pretty feisty little guy and I just can't get over how big he's gotten already. The breeder I got him from was even surprised. I like your crested's nice red coloring. Mine fires up almost that dark red but thats rare for him/her. I find my crested really only fires up when stressed or hunting. Either way, it's always hard to get a good pic. Enjoy your new herp. I swear if I had gotten a cresty first I probably wouldn't have Leo's. although I do see my Leo's quite a bit more. And dont worry as they get older and more comfortable, you will definitely start seeing more appearances.

I haven't held mine much. When they are young they get pretty stressed out. Mine is starting to come around me more because he knows I have the food :) it will take some time. When you do start handling, be very careful because they will jump. I try to stay close to the floor when handling mine. They are a lot of fun to watch. I'm sure you will enjoy your new friend.

I actually cut up a superworm every once in a while. My crested gets so excited about live food when I drop it in so he eats it instantly. I would not recommend feeding mealies or supers much. I will also put a cricket, small Dubai, or a wax worm every once in a great while and as stated above, you could use Phoenix worms too (hard to get by me) Stick mostly with the CGD. Live feeders should not be used as frequent. I actually dust the feeders in dry CGD before I put them in. Most will say live feeder 1 a week or so. I actually do once every week and a half. My crested is still young though so I want to make sure he's eating mostly CGD since its more balanced.
