I was wondering if someone could tell me what a good weight for a 1.5 year old male creastie is? My smeagle weighs 39-40 ( his weight goes between 39 and 40 depending on how much he ate that week- he is weighed wkly). I bought the creastie book and it said that they can go up to 60 grams but most are smaller. They wasn't specific about how much saller. I worry that he is under weight. Thanks

I have two breeding pairs of crested geckos and two more males. One of my breeding pairs are m-45g and f-55g. My other pair is m-40g and f-30 to 35g(she drops a little after she lays). My other male is about 10 months old and weights about 27g. My other male is not going to be a breeder only because he is a small guy, he only weights 25g and he alost 2 years old. At 1.5 years old, he should be almost full grown. It also depends on his diet. I would assume you are feeding T-Rex crested diet; try also feeding him some meal worms or adding some baby food into his crested diet. If you are breeding him you should wait until he is at least 35g and the female is 35g. Any thing between 40 and 50g is conisdered extreamly healthy, but he might just be a small guy.

The weight sounds right.
I wouldnt feed mealworms or baby food though. Stay with cgd and insects and he will be a nice healthy gecko :)

I haven't weighed our breeders lately but our males eat just as much as our females but are still way thinner bodied. We have one male that's always first to his food food bowl and he's the lightest one. I think just like Leos, some are heavier bodied than others.

I have one female that is about two years old, and she fluctuates between about 43 and 48 grams. Your male sounds fine to me.

He eats creasty diet mixed the T-rex brand mixed with either banana baby food or peach baby food. I tried mushing up real fruit and he wouldn't take it. He also ( every other night) eats 5-10 crickets (1/2 size) with the legs removed....he hates legs, lol. He will only eat if he is hand fed so its easy to monitor what he eats. he is in a 3 foot tall X 2 footX 2foot enclosure. He is very active. He likes to jump from his shelves to his vine. I just worried that he wasn't quite as large as he should be. Thanks for all the info.
