Got around to getting pictures off my phone. I love the farm! Especially spring; these cute baby pictures will keep the cuteness levels up until lambing time. And randomly...Ferrets!
First, and the most recent photo of the alpacas...BigMac! So called because he weighed a whopping 27lbs at birth! That's llama size! Ouch!

This is little Kitana. Isn't she the cutest! This is her at about a week old.

A baby alpaca is a cria, isn't Kitana a fine little cria. That's her mother in the background with the white socks.

Little Victoria in the foreground, ears back means she's not thrilled at all the attention.

Careful layering of your alpacas may maximize cuteness.

Aww, kids...pretending to be super-goat.

From a zoo but still adorable. Every morning should start with a nice bowl-o-goat.

These are the pet safe packing peanuts and the ferrets were supervised for the entire playtime.

OMG! That was almost TOO much cuteness! Wow, I want one now! Lol, they would fit nicely on my farm! =] I love kids, lol. And those ferrets are adorable!

Wonderful pictures! :nice: Alpacas are too cool - I obsessed over getting into them for a couple of years, but just don't have the space.

Thanks for all the comments everyone!
We weighed Kitana and Victoria in class today and they're both well over 100lbs. Go girls, grow up big and strong! :smitten:
Lambing should be sometime in February and kidding should be around March or April along with more crias.

I'm looking forward to kidding so much because then I'll have Grandkids :D! The breed of goat we have on campus is the Boer Goat, they're native to South Africa and are a hardy meat breed well suited to warm dry climates (they absolutely THRIVE in Texas).

If you really do want some goats, alpacas, or other livestock a great place to buy them at a good bargain is from colleges with student run animal groups or 4H.
