What is the best cricket setup? I don't have a car so getting crickets is a problem for me. The online prices are too high for me. I can get to Pet Smart every now and then though. I bought 30 crickets last week and have been taking proper care of them. Even so my gecko has eaten maybe 6 cricikets since I got the bag of 30 of them and now 5 days later at least 10 -15 crickets are dead. There's no point in my buying a large quantity of crickets for just one gecko if by the time he eats a dozen of them the rest are dead or dying. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well I used this link when I raised crickets a few years ago for my bullfrog and it was pretty successful as far as me breeding bugs go. XD

Do you have large sized crickets? Because the small ones seem to die like nothing. If you're getting the small ones, then definitely try the bigger ones.

If you feel the crickets aren't working out, you should buy some mealworms or super worms; superworms can last a very long time without turning into beetles as long as they're cramped with other worms. Mealworms can last a while if you keep them in the fridge, and both seem to be a lot hardier than crickets.

I'm buyng the large crickets. I took a look at the mealworms when I was at Pet Smart and when I popped off the lid most of the mealworms looked dead and dried up. Do geckos absolutely have to have crickets? If I can find some healthy mealworms it would make things much easier for me.

If they're dead just tell an employee, they're not supposed to be selling them dead anyway. :p But mealworms don't really move when they're frozen so unless they were black there could be a chance they were just in comatose from the cold.

And no, they do not need crickets, I feed my gecko mostly superworms.

I may be able to get back to Pet Smart later this week and I'll try some superworms.
