has anyone had experiences catching parasites or these pinworms with cricket feeding?...ever since I found out about them Ive been verrrryyy paranoid and ocd about feeding crickets and the cleanliness of my cricket cage especially with the amount of waste they can produce with worries of my leo catching something. is this rare to catch parasites/worms from crickets?. ive been feeding him off mealworms and silkies.

your gecko can get parasites from the mealworms too, its not just crickets. My gecko had parasites, and she is now parasite free as of 3 days ago, but all she eats is mealworms, so it definately came from them. You should be careful where you buy any feeder from because it sucks in vet bills when your gecko gets parasites, and its also really sad because they wont eat while they have parasites, so my gecko went 6 months without eating anything, but now she is better thanks to the vet visits...

I have been feeding crickets for years without any parasite problems. I keep them as clean as possible. Stick to one good cricket supplier and you should be fine. I buy them from

It is not altogether correct. Can you tell us how long you have had your gecko and what type of parasitic infection it had?

Pinworms have a direct lifecycle, which means they cannot infect two 'hosts' at the same time. If visible pinworms are found in a gecko's stool, the gecko is not infected and they infected the feeders. If pinworm eggs are found in the stool, then the gecko is infected.
