I bopught my 2 Leopard Geckos from a private seller over a week ago. He kept them on a diet of Mealies and Crickets.

The only problem is that i have put about 10 crickets in total into their viv and they have only eaten 1 and thats because it was stupid enough to run into their favourite hide lol.

Anyone got any tips and advice? (they are eating the mealies fine).

Thanks~!

Paul

If its a week I wouldn't be worried about it, if they are doing fine on mealies then you will be ok, Try switching to some wax/butter/phoenix worms, or locusts they might like them. Just keep trying they will eventually go for them.

i just tried locusts 4 the second time just and im pretty imprest at the response of my "cricket eaters" the first licked it for a second then got the hunting eyes and bamm gone ive used them b4 but 1 escaped and i couldnt catch it so i put them in the bin im just gunna put a little more care into not letting them escape

also i cut the jumping legs off so they carnt climb the glass and jump of as quick

I dunno......they are 13 and 18 months old. They don't really eat many mealies either......i put about 6 in their food bowl for them and when i look they might only eat 2-3 between them. Sometimes i find i have to hand feed them to make sure they are eating :S

It can take a while for Leos to settle in and start eating regularly. Usually, the older the gecko is the longer it takes but every Leo is different. We've had adults shipped to us that took 6 weeks to start eating. I wouldn't worry about it too much for right now unless you have another reason to suspect a health problem.
