Can any one tell me how to prolong a crickets life. I've tried the fluckers water stuff, cricket food, feeding them apples, potatos. It'd getting very expensive to keep buyig crickets for Leonard when they live no longer than 4-5 days tops especially at pet store prices 11-12 cents each. I thought about going to the bait shop and getting 100 for $3.00 but if they die as quickly what's the point, not to mention the crickets at the bait shop I hear aren't as healthy help.

Where do you keep them? I have a cricket keeper, and I use Repashy gutloader and some rocks in water for hydration, and they seem to live at least 2 weeks. I buy them in small quantities because they start to get smelly and hard to maintain after more than like 20.

I have a 10 gallon tank that I keep them in. I put paper towel rolls in there with them. I also put water and veggies in there with them. They are out in the garage but I have a heat lamp over them and they live for weeks with no problem.

That's a really good idea. When I get more room (aka a house or a decent sized apartment) I think I'll try that. How do you get them out? They crawl into the paper towel tubes and you can get them that way?

woa only that long? I've had crickets last up to a month or two. I keep them in a 10 gal with egg cartons and all I feed them is moist cut potatos and some collard.

Yes they do live longer for me but I go through alot of crickets. I have a old sour cream container that I washed out they cant get out of it. When its feeding time I shake 3 or 4 papertowel rolls and they all fall out into the container. Then I use twezzers to get them out and put them in with my leos.

I keep them in maybe a 3 gallon kricket keeper like container with moist potatos and or an apple in the same room as my gecko. I have a gut load cricket food in there and flukers cricket quencher in the bottom for hydration and they die it almost looks like they fight and eat each other what can I do differently.
