everyone i was wondering what i could do to help my geckos eat mealies, because they dont seem to be interested in them. The reason why i want to swith from crix to mealies is because crix are a pain and stink!!
so if anyone has any info feel free to share

I have the same issue with one of geckos I switched to mealies about 2 months ago, but I have just one gecko out of 7 that I have to buy crickets for. I don't know what to tell you but sometimes they just don't want worms I guess.

I don't know if this works or not- buy since they love wax worms you could try squishing one or two waxies onto a dish of mealies and see if that works
Once they get the idea -they might eat them without the waxies

When I first got my leos they were only eating crix. I just put a lil dish of mealies in their cage everynight and left them there for 1-2 days. If they weren't eaten I would throw them out and try again for a few more days. I slowly started reducing the amount of crix I was feeding them. They soon got the hint, within a day or two. If they don't eat for more then 3 days then I wouldn't push it and I would just stick with mealies. I also heard that you can take a crix and kill it and kinda rub the juices on the mealies and see if they eat them then. Good luck

Crickets = Pain In The Butt

This is exactly why I start all my babys on mealworms. They don't even get to see a cricket until they're 20+ grams and still I only feed my leos crickets once a week as treats.

Same here. But they seem, 3 of them, to like mealies. I see them once in a while, flirting with the mealies dish and picking a few here and there. When I come back from work, the number of mealies as reduce.

Mine absolutely refuses to eat mealies out of a dish. I think she likes the hunt. If I drop a mealie on the cage floor and it wiggles she will hunt it down and eat it right up but if they are in a dish forget it she won't touch them. I start with 5 and just keep going 5 at a time till she stops eating them. some days its 10 some its 15.

You dont have to feed mealies so if your wont eat them its not big deal. Mine love them but also eat crickets. I also reccomend feeding a variety even though its fine to feed cricks or mealies as a staple diet. You could just mainly feed cricks and give them wax worms as a treat once in awhile.
