Im writing a paper on crypto for school i stumbled upon this;

Tremper claims the cure for crypto.. however its 5 years old since everyone is not aware of this im sure it proved to be wrong..
anyone have any info?

As far as I know it has not been proven effective in reptiles. I have managed to keep reptiles infected with crypto alive for a few years in the past only with nutritional support and antibiotics for secondary infections.

Yes, it was confirmed. One of the reptiles with crypto also had coccidia so I treated the coccidia with Albon. He was not expected to survive.

One time dose of vitamin b-complex was administered by SQ
Daily I had to force feed A/D Hill's mixed with water.
Perfect husbandry and that was all:main_yes:
Stress must also be reduced by all means.

I am currently multitasking so I keep leaving things out. As for the gecko with crypto, he was doing great for over 3 years until suddenly I noticed blood in his feces. He began bleeding internally and became septic and died within a week. So it can cause irreversible damage of the intestines. It caused hemorrhagic enteritis, septicemia and death.

Currently, there is NO CURE for crypto in leopard geckos, and just because a gecko is symptom-free and their fecal tests are negative does not mean the gecko is cured. It should be assumed that the parasite is not in it's reproductive stage, and can still infect other geckos. Remember, Tremper's book also states that ALL leopard geckos have crypto, which is entirely false!
