It looks like a fuzzy tent on legs! I was going to say that I would touch it..until I looked at that link. Now I don't think I want to. :worried2:

I think I need to be more careful when touching insects....I would have picked that up. I don't seem to think twice about picking up most insects. Yes I have been stung and bitten a lot...I still have not learned my lesson!
Thanks for finding that article Kris!

Having lived in Panama, I wouldn't have touched that thing with a 10' pole! LOL While I haven't touched any of the caterpillars on that site, I have brushed up on a number of stinging caterpillars that would invade the base every year (I can't find a photo). Trust me when I say it's not fun! It burns like fire for quite awhile, and those guys were mild compared to what was lurking in the jungle.

The worst sting anyone in my family got was my Dad...from a PLANT! We were biking in the mountains and he brushed up against a leaf. He was left with a VERY sensitive chemical burn on his arm for about 6 months...it was very red and swollen the whole time. It got to the point he didn't think it would ever go away. According to him, it felt like fire ALL the time. Just imagine your forearm feeling like it's bathing in flames for the next six months!

I went through the entire bug index and could not find that thing...yeah I know I have no life...
Maybe you could read the coments under the video? There might be some information there, or at least its name...
