Two years back I hatched one out that had big black bands as well:

But it turned out to be a High Yellow.

It is not literal translation - it is just a short version

Those Black Pearls are from Dutch ZOO. They were first geckos obtained from wild captured geckos. Konrad (owner of livingartgeckos) bought them there. Unfortunately after that this ZOO had some problems with their geckos and they lost them.
When they hatch they looks like some line-bred snows or just normals, but when they are getting older they also getting darker, and adults have no brown color - just black, so they do not looks like Midnight Blizzards as adults.
Konrad does not know how their genetics yet, but first generation behaved like co-dominant.

This year he already hatched some Black Pearls and maybe it will tell something more about them.
Probably first Black Pearls will be sold next year (there is 2008 on the banner).
