Ugh, marcia you have made your reservations already? If you dont mind me asking, do you delta dash your reptiles? I heard they put a $750 max insurance on shipments, which has me worried.

David and I are *tentatively* planning to come up the week before, so we can hopefully hook up with local folks in that area so I can photograph local Florida breeder's animals!

I am probably going to have a friend of ours fly down the weekend of, to help us vend, and to bring all of the anmials and supplies, etc.

Awesome! So I will put "Aunt Catfish" down on the poll...what is it? Sea Food?
Another vote for Aunt Catfish. The place has a twisted special meaning to the wife and I. A few years back we were driving up listening to the reports on the hurricane heading for Florida, it was supposed to be just a Cat 1 and hit the west coast so we listened to CDs the rest of the way up the four hour cruise.
We pull into Aunt Catfish for a leisurely dinner and they're boarding up. While having dinner we find out it's now forcasted to be a Cat 4 and heading for Daytona. Our hotel was being evacuated, we drove back south thru the edge of the storm with 90 MPH winds laughing, came back the next morning to a big mess. It worked out so well that we felt guilty.

If I can sweet-talk my husband, he may come as well! If not, then I really have to sweet-talk him to let me go again. I already made my hotel reservations anyway... hehehe.

I made mine as well!! :D Now I just have to hope that Geoff will be in town to watch the kids!

I think we might go... and... go to Disney! :) I'm a huge Disneyland junkie out here in Cali, but Disney World sound so tempting!

and of course... I'd be there to hang out, and buy geckos too... ;)

I think that you would get more response about his closer to August. A ton of people don't know if they can get off work, who's going to watch their kids, feed their animals, $$$ is always an issue with traveling with some people too, etc. We might be getting a little ahead of ourselves. Plans can change really quick when this many people are traveling. We probably will not be going this year since we downsized our collection recently but I would still like to go Saturday night and hang out with everyone like we did last year. We will have to see when it gets closer.

I was just seeing if it's a good idea. I haven't put up any polls yet. If I did this in July I would have people complaining thee wasn't enough time. So I thought I would just give everyone a heads up on what I was thinking about doing and if they knew they were going, then they can send me their info. But I'm not planning on putting up any polls for awhile. I need to look into some restuarants as well.

If you end up having to choose between Friday night and Saturday night I'd like to put in my 2 cents worth for Saturday. My friend and I have made reservations at the Hilton already but it'll be Friday evening when we arrive. I'm so looking forward to meeting fellow gecko lovers. This is my first reptile show ever! Not much of that stuff going on in Montana or nearby states.

Looking forward to meeting you to Paul :D

My friend Ramie (Ramies Reptiles) and I are excited beyond belief. I figure if you have t pick only one reptile show, then it HAS to be Daytona. How can you go wrong? For a lover of all creepy crawly things that will be heaven - and the beach and ocean are right out the back door! OK. A little to excited? I need to go wash more lizard tubs and calm down ;)

OMG Shelly! You're going to go crazy! It's amazing...wall to wall with nothing but awesome reptiles. Last year was our first year going and I didn't even like reptiles that much but I fell in love with them there!

I think i will organize a dinner for both nights. With the Saturday dinner obviously being bigger than the Friday one.

Can't wait to meet you Shelly!

You are NOT helping me contain my excitement! ;) August can't get here fast enough. I've never had the luxury of seeing a gecko in person before buying. It will be very hard not to spend a ton of money.

Hard isn't a good word, when it comes to Daytona "impossible" not to spend a ton of money comes to mind. I already have purchases waiting, lol, and I haven't even seen what is going to be there this year. Ugh, this could get ugly.

We are making a wish list that is coming out to be more money than we expected. lol. Of course we are rounding prices up so we don't fall short on money. Yes, I will have to say it's going to be impossible to not spend a ton of money. lol

And Shelly, when Matt and I talk about this coming Daytona, we can't contain ourselves! lol. We get all excited and jumpy. So, you're not alone in the massive excitement and the wishing that August would get here sooner.
