OK...... I have had a several crickets that die in the cricket cage. Is there anything to consider as to the health of the gecko. I am using Faulkers Feed and gelled water along with some carrot slices.

Is there such a thing a sick crickets or bad to feed?

What products are you using of the Fluker's? If they are high in calcium they will die off fast.

Also how big of an enclosure do you have them in?

If the crickets are mushy and wet looking it is most likely from the high calcium diet, if they are dry, it could be old age or other crickets preying on them.

Faulkers cricket quencher and High Calcium diet food.

So what is the better choice or how to use it ( or how little I already have?)

I had better luck with an old fashion cricket cage for fishing and a slice of potato....LOL!

So you have the blue water gel? If so then continue to use it, but the High Calcium feed will cause the crickets to die faster, it should only be feed to crickets that are going to be feed off within the next 24 hours of eating the diet.

You can purchase the non calcium diet from Flukers or purchase wheat bran from a feed store or your grocery store and feed the crickets that.

How much egg carton are you using in your cricket container? If the crickets don't have enough spaces to hide individually, they'll end up trampling and killing each other. One or two pieces of cardboard that they give you at the store is usually not enough. Try adding more egg carton and see if that helps as well.

No I have the yellow "calcium fortified" gel and the Hi Cal diet food 24/7 ...... no wonder...lol.

Still might try the cheap fishing cricket basket with some egg carton pieces... change daily food and then...... gut load before feeding.

I would give carrots as the water source then and not the gel. Feed them wheat bran, dry dog/cat food, fish food. Then when you are going to feed them off, use the flukers. Stick only the crickets that are to be feed into a container with the flukers gel and food.

Thanks..... so the Flukers products I bought are for gut loading and not a 24/7 diet.

Now all I need is a another cage to house the gut loaded for feeding and keep the others "alive" till then....LOL!

A kritter keeper or sterilite container is all that is needed. Feed off the Flukers and once it is gone, just use plain water gel or carrots and the wheat bran, dog/cat food or fish food. Using the fish food really seems to make them stink though, worse than they already do.
