he's probably ok to feed every other day honestly. put 5 or 6 large crickets in his enclosure in the evening and remove the ones that aren't eaten after a few hours. if your leo is eating, you don't have to stress so much. he looks pretty healthy from the pics, and it is very easily possible to over feed a gecko. i have a blizzard female that i got from robin that i seriously have to watch how much she eats. the girl is huge and has an appetite to match, lol.

Feed him tonight. Put 5-7 crickets in there. If he eats them all, put another one in and see how many he wants. Then feed him again Friday night the same way. Remember that reptiles don't need calories to keep themselves warm because they're cold blooded. Also, he looks to be getting to the weight where growth slows down and they eat a lot less. I'm currently feeding my "babies" (born between last May and Oct) 2 out of 3 days. They could go every other day, but then it would be too confusing since my adults are fed during the winter every 3 days.

On the other hand, my kitten (3 months) is eating 5 times a day, but she's warm blooded and growing fast.

I prefer supers actually. You don't risk the parasites that can come with crickets, cleaner, don't smell, don't make noise, live longer, easier to keep, you can breed your own colony, don't really run from your leo, don't escape as easily, you can leave them in the tank in a dish and they usually won't escape (and if they don't escape won't harrass/stress your leo like crickets can/will), and you only need to feed a few. My 10 mos old leo eats 1-3 supers 3x a week. I'm very happy using supers as my staple. I just make sure to pinch their heads a little to stun them so my leo doesn't risk getting bit or injured while eating but he usually grabs the lil boogers right by or behind the head so we've never had a problem there. I hand feed him with tweezers each worm. It's really fun actually.

i feed my geckos a differing diet, and breed my own supers, mealies, and dubia. crickets are for my fat tails and picky leos. i honestly prefer a combination of dubia and supers for leos.

I really like the idea of feeding my 7-8 month old Leo supers ..maybe 1-3 every other day.but one more question ..what are the cons and pros of feeding supers as a staple .. ? Are they too big for an 8 month roughly 6-7 inch Leo?? Hmmmmmm slowly getting convinced about these super worms ...

The general rule of thumb for feeders is for it not to be any bigger around than the space bewteen your leo's eyes. My 7 mos old leo handled full sized supers just fine and they are his staple diet. He has grown rather well imo, if his shedding is any indication of his growth rate he sheds about every 3 weeks. I need to mix his feeders up a little tho to include some different things every now and then... maybe I'll go get him some waxies or silkies. Gotta see what strange and unusual feeders are at the petstore :) Also Eros didn't slow down his eating until winter started. Up until then he was eating very regularly 3 supers a feeding. He ate monday and had 2, he ate but he always seems to eat less on a dusting day. Idk maybe he isn't too crazy about the dust. When he ate on friday he had 3. He usually walks away when he's full so there's no mistaking when he's done :)

Most of my adults prefer supers. Probably 2-3 are on crickets. Superworms get a lot bigger than big mealworms and also have more black color on them.
